As part of the Home Investment Program, Wheat Ridge 2020 purchases properties, improves them to meet today's market demands and sells them to interested buyers.  Upon completion of construction, open houses are held to show neighbors and interested parties how the property was improved.  Additionally, WR2020 offers low-interest loans to help homeowners make their own improvements.

Wheat Ride 2020 Home Investment Loan Program
Wheat Ridge 2020 is pleased by the popularity of our low-interest loan program to spur improvements to owner-occupied homes in a priority area. 

In 2007, The Home Investment Program offered loans for improvements supported by the Neighborhood Revitalization Strategy.  Eligible properties must be in the program's current service area between Sheridan and Wadsworth with a priority area of 32nd to 44th Avenues and Sheridan to Pierce within the City of Wheat Ridge.  The loans were for up to 80% of the cost of home renovations with loan amounts between $5,000 and $30,000.  The loans offered have no-interest for the first three years and 4% interest for years four through ten; they are 10-year notes with a 20-year amortization schedule. 

Eligible project costs include exterior facade improvements, landscaping, interior renovations, energy improvements, and structural, mechanical & electrical repairs.  All projects must include exterior improvements visible from the street.
